The School was established in 1948 by Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Idun a business educationalist. Initially, it was known as Takoradi Commercial Academy near sekondi in Western Region of Ghana.

Over time, the school underwent numerous changes becoming Royal Commercial Secondary School in 1905, Ahantaman Secondary School in 1980, and finally Ahantman Girls' Senior High school in 2010 which converted from co-educational institution to single sex school. Currently the school is located at sekondi- ketan with a large population if 1,700 students..

The school has really transformed, currently the school has an advanced three block science laboratory, a computing Lab and has moved to category B school.....courses offered there are :
